Occupation: Haerz is a far-travelled merchant and craftsman, well-spoken-of in the various guilds of peace across Eorzea, and with connections in most settlements on the continent. Since the Calamity, he's made no secret of his study of the healer's arts in Gridania.Other Details: For all his friendly boisterousness, Haerz moves through the world as though everything, and everyone, around him were made of glass, caution and care evident in every movement.

Personality: Haerz (pronounced like 'hairs', but with a bit of an er/ur sound at the end) is a big friendly goof of a Roegadyn, once you get past the shyness.In his downtime between travelling for work, caring for his family, and... other pursuits... he can usually be found puttering about on projects at his company house, or staying up far too late enjoying drink and company at one of the continent's many taverns.

Merchant Travels: Haerz has spent most of the past 25 years travelling around the continent, peddling his services, and eventually building a network of contacts for trade and work. Does your character dabble in trade, or have any dealings with one of Haerz' contacts? Maybe you travelled with him years ago, as part of the same caravan.Guild Work: Haerz is a member of every trade guild in Eorzea (and is a recognized master smith and carpenter). Do you need something crafted? A consult on an architecture or decorating project? Help obtaining some rare mineral resource?Carteneau Flats: Five years ago (silly time-bubble) Haerz served in the Limsan navy as an engineer and quartermaster. He was there, when Dalamud fell. Were you? Did you or a loved one fight against the VIIth legion?Studies in Gridania: In the years since Carteneau, Haerz spent a great deal of time assisting the Carpenter's guild in sharing their skills to help in rebuilding the lands damaged by the Calamity. More recently he took up conjury, hoping to mend flesh and bone as easily as wood and steel. Are you a student of white magic? The Ironkind

The Ironkind Commercial Collective is the Free Company Haerz formed to coordinate his mercantile efforts.Based out of Kindhome, their headquarters in Ishgard, the Ironkind's core membership is mostly made up of Thanalan expatriates who work directly for Haerz (NPCs/Retainers), either as students/apprentices in Ishgard, or agents/factors in various markets and trading posts throughout the continent.PC members are partners and allies who've signed on to hone their skill as crafters, get steady mercenary work guarding Ironkind caravans, or maybe they just like the pancake breakfasts Haerz makes when he spends the night at Kindhome.

OOC Notes (still a WIP)

The goal of this section is to give you a little bit of extra, strictly OOC information, player-to-player, so you know what you're getting into if you RP with Haerz.RP Style: I favor a quick, bantering RP style over big blocks of text, and light, low-stakes, slice of life scenes over big dramatic sagas (especially since I'm a parent, and have quite a few demands on my time). Humor and wordplay are a big part of my style, and Haerz has a nervous habit of cracking jokes when he's worried.RP Expectations: Haerz is made to be a supporting character, offering a kind word and helpful advice, maybe gathering some rumors or other useful information to pass along, or serve as a mentor or uncle/big-brother figure.Lore Guidelines: I prefer having Haerz interact with characters who more or less fit the setting and themes of the game. That being said, if it doesn't come up much (or you don't mind Haerz... gliding past the bits which break the setting) I'll be happy to engage with you!Lines and Limits: If you're interested in engaging with Haerz in longer-form, or heavier-content scenes/stories, please reach out to me OOC ahead of time.
